1)Consulting and technical support unit

The main task of this unit in Dasht-e Kurdistan pipe company is to compile technical documentation, purchase information, product and service acceptance criteria and etc.… and overseeing its full implementation in the company. This unit according to requirements, needs, and the demands of in-house and out-of-market customers have turned them into technical specification and provides these personnel with the aim of improving the quality of the manufactured products to be implemented.

The most important technical and engineering responsibilities are as follows:

Understand the quality policy and align the activities of the unit in relation to them.

Develop quality goals and plans and recommend them to senior managers.

Trying to achieve the goals and programs of quality and reporting to senior managers.

Assist in identifying risks and opportunities for the company and trying to control and optimize them.

Cooperation in the preparation of relevant guidelines and procedures.

Identify legal requirements related to factory manufactured products and update them.

Supervise control of technical documentation and legal requirements related to the product and service.

Developing a product quality including product purchase information, product control characteristics, test and inspection methods and etc.

Consider product safety issues in the design and development process.

Develop a schedule due to design and development.

Preparing reports from technical and engineering status of products and presenting them to senior executives.

Monitoring and measuring a related process and presenting to the ISO management representative.

Control the changes in product design and production.

Apply the corrective and preventive measures to eliminate actual and potential mismatches.

Determining the educational effectiveness of qualified personnel control training courses.

Identify the equipment and machinery needed to improve or develop the product.

Assessment of the layout of machinery and equipment in production halls and its revision to increase production capacity.

Initial evaluation performance of suppliers of machinery, equipment and molds.

Communicate and report to stakeholders on product or service quality issues and a management system such as a standard enterprise or customers and other duties assigned by the senior executive of the Dasht-e Kurdistan pipe company.

2) production planning and control unit

The production planning and control unit based in Kurdistan Dash pipe factory is performed directly under the supervision of factory manager and his mission is the guiding and organizing all factory for timely production and planned orders and guidance and supervision of the good performance of all program activities are responsible for timely provision of customer orders.

Main tasks:

Guidance and directing all production activities to achieve factory goals.

Supervision and coordination of production units to achieve production schedule.

Monitoring and tracking of daily production reports and tracking of mismatches.

Finalizing and validating the estimation of time resources, human resources, time and items which needed to produce the products.

Control how the documentation is set up by the operators.

Resolving the noncompliance observed in the process.

Supervising compliance with production standards.

Supervision of maintenance and protection of machinery.

Supervising the production process of current products in quantitative terms and presenting programs to reduce unplanned losses and stops.

Receiving customers’ needs from consulting and sales units and developing customized plans to deliver to the product line.

Predicting customers’ requests periodically and estimating the raw materials needed for production.

Collaborating with the technical unit of engineering in the process of product realization especially in formulation processes and production standards.

Monitoring of depot, shipment and delivery to customer.

Creating the archives for documentation of records of corrective and preventive action.

3) lab unit and quality control

Quality control of PE pipe

Dasht-e Kurdistan pipe is manufacture of polyethene pipes with quality control laboratory equipped with advanced laboratory equipment and by conducting rigorous tests on its products according to internal and external standards has be able to market high quality products. This lab strives to dynamically maintain and improve the effectiveness of activities continuous improvement and customer satisfaction provide its services in accordance with ISO/ IEC 17025

International standard.

The tests are based on INSO14427-1,2 and ISO442701,2 standards.

The tests in this company are taken as follows:

Density according to INSO7090-1 and ISO 1182-1

The physical properties of polyethylene can be predicted by its density with good approximation. For this purpose, in the company this test is performed on the raw material and product by the floatation method.

Standard ISNO6980-1 melt flow index

This test is a method for measuring the melt mass flow rate of soft heat material, under specified conditions of temperature and in grams per 10 minutes.

Measurement of soot according to ISO6964 standard

The color of the pipe is effective on the long-term stability of the pipe against wind and sun, the soot that is added to blacken the polyethylene provides a much better resistance to UV radiation and this test controls the amount of raw material and product soot.

Soot dispersion according to INSO20059 and ISO 18553 standards accurate and good distribution of soot in PE to achieve the desired functional properties is important while proper soot dispersion is very effective in pipe surface smoothness. This test examines the dispensation and distribution of soot.

Thermal return according to INSO17614 standard during this procedure, a certain length of pipe is heated to 110°c. After heating, the pipe surfaces are examined for defects such as gaps, blisters or segregation of the walls.

Dimensional control according to ISNO2412 and ISO3126 standards.

The most important tests performed on PE:

Weight percent of soot or carbon in polyethylene

Oxidation rate of pipes (thermal stability)

Tensile test

Polyethylene pipes must achieve the desired results in all these tests; the least defect in the final result of the quality control of the PE pipe indicates that the pipe is defective and defective in the production line. For example, if soot or carbon are not uniformly distributed throughout the pipe, the different parts of the pipe will have different strengths, and therefor some parts of the pipe wall will be much more fragile than others.

The thermal stability test determines how high the polyethylene pipes are able to withstand high temperatures; this is particularly important for pipes that are to be installed in very hot operating conditions.

4) Marketing and sales unit

In Dasht-e Kurdistan pipe company, the marketing and sales unit performs direct supervision of the director of the factory and his mission is marketing and acting on domestic and foreign production contracts and also has the responsibility to maintain direct contact with domestic and foreign customers and oversight. Asking for them and transferring the views to the relevant units will provide the necessary background for customer satisfaction.

Main tasks:

Marketing new products and getting orders from customers and announcing them to production planning and control unit.

Responding to customers about their contracts and complaints and notifying managers.

Setting up contracts and keeping track of them.

Supervising and tracking the sales of products.

Write a seasonal forecast of sales forecast and monthly production equal to customer demand and market conditions.

Announce the sale price of products to customers.

Follow up on customer billing.

Attend follow-up meetings.

Supervise timely delivery of products to customers.

Problems with returned products and products.

Consider customer comments and complaints.
